Ministry of Health Announces funding for new Health Centre in North End In May, 2008 HAMILTON --- the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care announced the second phase of funding for the relocation of our Health centre. This funding, $15.8 million, will support the construction of a new sustainable facility to meet the expanding needs of the Health Centre's communities. Demolition of the former Bennetto Middle School is scheduled to begin early fall and building of the Health Centre should be complete in 18 to 24 months. This new facility, once built, will be one of the most energy efficient buildings in Hamilton and the most energy efficient community health centre in Ontario. Please note we are not a walk in clinic. There is a 24-hour on-call service available for urgent medical care. This service is for patients of the Health Centre and can be reached by calling 905-523-6611. We are located at 554 John Street North, just north of Burlington Street. There is parking available at the Catherine Street entrance. The Bayfront bus (#4) stops closest at John and Burlington Streets. This bus can be picked up downtown at James Street South and King William Street. Our building is wheelchair accessible.
